The Red Dress

The centerpiece of The Heart Truth is the Red Dress, the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. First introduced in February 2003 in partnership with America's fashion industry, the Red Dress is a red alert that Heart Disease doesn't care what you wear - it's the #1 killer of women.

For more than 50 years, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as philanthropic priorities. Through its annual Cardiac Care Award, the Alpha Phi Foundation helps to fund research and educational programs that support cardiac health. As a result of these efforts, health care professionals and women everywhere are learning more about the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease.

To do our part in supporting The Alpha Phi Foundation and cardiac care, we will be offering these pins as a fundraiser for the DuPage Valley Alumnae. With every $10 donation you make to our group you will receive a pin. In support of women's cardiac health, consider getting a pin not just for yourself but for your mother, sister, daughter or friend.

If you would like a Red Dress Pin please call Elaine Sikorski at 630-665-5423 or come to one of our meetings.
